Clean Air Cab Plants Another 260 Trees in November!
In keeping with our commitment to plant 10 trees each month for every cab we have in service, Clean Air Cab has planted another 260 trees for the month of November. “We are excited to partner with Trees for the Future to help us with our commitment to global reforestation” said Jorn P. Bates, Clean Air Cab’s Chief Eco Coordinator.
Our current reforestation efforts are currently focused in the Brazilian rainforest as well as locally with the city of Mesa and Tempe in Arizona. As this is our second month of operation we have now planted 520 trees. As we grow, we plant more trees - so by simply using a Clean Air Cab, you can help the environment.

Our new partner, Clean Air Cab, is a carbon neutral taxi company serving the Phoenix metro area. In addition to purchasing carbon offsets from Carbonfund.org, they go above and beyond and also plant ten trees per month for each cab they have on the road. For October, Clean Air Cab has planted 260 trees! They plan to reach 200 cabs in the next 3 years and plant over 23,000 trees.
Rather than your usual Ford Crown Victoria, their entire fleet is made up of Toyota Priuses getting an estimated 50 miles per gallon. They also prove that going green doesn’t have to be expensive. They have prices that are cheaper than the top three cab companies in Phoenix.
“We believe that going green isn’t something you do – it is something you are,” said Steve Lopez, Founder of Clean Air Cab.
In addition to taking care of the environment, Clean Air Cab has programs that protect their local community. Arizona State University students can call Clean Air Cab’s Free Ride Back program to get a cab to take them home if they have been drinking and can’t drive themselves. In the morning, they call back and a cab will pick them up and take them back to their car for free.

Pink Breast Cancer Cab Hits Phoenix Streets - Clean Air Cab Donates $1 Per Fare to Komen for the Cure
Mesa, Ariz., November, 2009- Clean Air Cab, Arizona’s first completely carbon neutral taxicab service, has released their first pink Komen for the Cure cab on the streets of Metropolitan Phoenix today. Clean Air Cab will be donating one dollar of every fare to Susan G. Komen for the Cure over the next year.

“We are pleased to work with a company that gives back to our community and does it green and clean! This is a wonderful opportunity to help spread awareness and raise vital funds for breast cancer” stated Charles P. Thompson, Board President of the Phoenix Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Allison Levin, Manager of Fund Development for Komen also stated “I am excited to partner with Clean Air Cab, and hopes that the roads and streets they travel will help drive home the importance of breast health.”

For Steve Lopez, founder of Clean Air Cab, choosing to support Komen was simple. His mother and grandmother are both survivors of breast cancer. He stated, “Breast cancer awareness is a very important cause, and one that I am proud to support. Educating women about early detection is just so critical and I want to help. I didn’t want to just do a token effort, so Clean Air Cab is supporting Komen for the Cure every day, 365 days a year. I care.” Lopez is a resident of Ahwatukee, Ariz.
The pink cab can be booked upon request if it is in the near vicinity and available, but the company plans to simply mix the cab into its fleet. Breast cancer awareness and educational materials will be available in the cab free of charge.
Other local vendors were instrumental in getting the pink cab completed, including US4U Business Branding, who donated design for the Komen cab, and Smart Shield, who donated production of the wrap graphics.

Clean Air Cab just launched its On-Line Taxi Reservation and Fare Estimator. Our customers can now easily and quickly make a reservation for a taxi for immediate pickup or schedule one in advance. We feel this will make it even easier for our customers to “go green for less” by using the latest scheduling technology to schedule a trip in one of our Carbon Neutral Cabs.
