Clean Air Cab First in Arizona to Have Rear Seat Credit Card Processing in Taxicabs
Mesa, Ariz., April 25, 2010 - Clean Air Cab, Arizona’s most environmentally friendly taxicab service, today announced the launch a revolutionary rear-seat credit card processing system. Clean Air Cab Passengers now have a quick and easy rear-seat self-swipe credit card payment option – putting them in control of the process!

Creative Mobile Technologies (CMT) signature Passenger Information Monitors (PIMs) feature credit card acceptance functionality enabling passengers to securely swipe their own credit card and complete wireless transactions in seconds. “It’s a home run for our customers as they control the entire payment process from the comfort of their seat. They verify the fare, choose an appropriate tip and swipe their card. It’s just one more innovation to make the travel experience easier and hassle free.” said Jorn Bates, COO of Clean Air Cab.
While many consumers expect to pay more for green alternatives that benefit the planet, Clean Air Cab’s rates are less than their competitors. “We believe that going green isn’t something you do - it is something you are,” said Steve Lopez, Founder of Clean Air Cab. “Our intention is to take the trendy out of ‘going green’ and deliver a product that allows consumers to be green just by participating.”

Clean Air Cab recently partnered with Eco-Aid to provide carbon management not only to offset the emissions from our taxis, but also our entire corporate facility. This further illustrates our commitment to the triple bottom line concept for sustainable operations.

About Clean Air Cab
Based out of Mesa, Ariz., Clean Air Cab is Arizona’s first 100% carbon neutral taxicab service. Its mission is to make it affordable and convenient for everyone to go green by offering green cabs at less expensive rates than traditional cab alternatives. The eco-friendly transportation company was launched in October 2009 with a fleet of 26 Toyota Prius, currently the most fuel-efficient hybrid auto on the market. The Ford Crown Victoria’s traditionally used by cab companies releases approximately 160% more emissions than the Toyota Prius. The Toyota Prius also offers an extra 33 miles per gallon of gas - a gas savings of almost 1,000 miles per gallon across the fleet. In addition to the substantial reduction of carbon emissions and improved mileage offered by its fleet, Clean Air Cab purchases carbon offsets and supports global reforestation by subsidizing the planting of 10 rain forest trees monthly for each cab in service and have already planted 1,540 trees. Just planted another 260 Trees!

April 10, 2010

Trees For the Future

When Clean Air Cab started, we made a commitment to plant 10 trees for each cab we put on the road. We are keeping that promise with one of our important Partners, Trees for the Future. In March we planted another 260 trees with Trees for the Future to bring our total to 1,540. We are planing these trees in São Paulo State, Brazil to support one of Trees for the Future’s current projects.
